Ophthalmologist Aaron Parnes, MD

Aaron Parnes, MD

Retinal Detachment and Retina Specialist

“My first exposure to ophthalmology was at the end of my second year in medical school during a day devoted to a variety of specialties.  Only a small portion of time in medical school is spent learning ocular anatomy and disease, but that introduction was enough for my interest to be piqued. I am certainly glad I chose to pursue ophthalmology, considering that it has become, as it has for many physicians in the field, more than just a career for me.  The field marries the rewarding opportunity to restore sight and create lasting relationships with patients with the challenge of performing delicate microsurgery utilizing cutting-edge technology.”

Patient Testimonials

  • “After dealing with eye care near home for my 88 year old mother in law, once referred to the Eyecare Medical Group we learned what excellent, professional service really means. Very prompt, thorough, and always pleasant and kind. Dr. Parnes nurse took the time to explain the situation and upcoming procedure along with post surgical care. When Dr. Parnes saw the problem he quickly brought in a second Dr. in the practice who specialized in the issue for his opinion. Both pre and post surgical instructions were very clear and well explained. The post op surgical nurse was fantastic. The front desk on both the exam and surgical offices were prompt, efficient and polite. They researched her insurance and assured her she was covered for her pending procedure. After revealing we were 1/1/2 hours away, they rescheduled us to the Portland office from Saco. This all occurred between Veterans Day and Thanksgiving – a very busy time.”

  • “Dr. Parnes- well , I put my faith and trust in him when my Rt retina had tears. He saved my retina. Period. He is direct but decent with his communication. I had no questions after he explained what needed to be done. My case was an emergency.
I know he will help me in the future. Hats off to ancillary staff- all of them- from schedulers to expert technicians. Thank you.”
